Every year, FIRST® releases a challenge for FRC teams across the world. In 6 weeks, teams build a robot that can complete the challenge and compete with other teams.
Overview
FIRST Destination: Deep Space is the 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition game. The game is played by two alliances of three teams each and involves loading the rockets and cargo ship with cargo and safely climbing back into the hab zone at the end of the game.
Scoring is based on hatches and cargo. Teams will get 2 points for each hatch panel attached to a rocket or cargo ship, and 3 points for each cargo safely loaded into a ship. At the endgame, teams get 3 points for a level one climb, 6 for a level 2 climb, and 12 for a level 3 climb. Alliances get 1 RP for filling 1 rocket, 1 RP for 15 climb points, and 2 RP for winning.
